NHI Care Awards 2014
Last night at the City West Hotel in Dublin the Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) held its annual National Care Awards 2014.
Sr Margaret Deegan works as a voluntary Chaplain in TLC (Tender Loving Care Nursing Home) Citywest, Co Dublin. Margaret has worked there for several years and was nominated by the staff there for the award for her care, sensitivity, and loving attention to the residents in the Nursing Home with special emphasis on accompanying patients towards the End of Life.
She was shortlisted with two others and last night the three were present with many others nominated for other awards by the NHI to hear whether they had won or not.
The staff had no doubt that Margaret would win the prize but there was no certainty of that until her name was announced. She received a standing ovation as she walked to the podium to say her few words and receive her prize. It was a proud moment for Sr Margaret, for the staff of the Nursing Home and for ourselves as a Congregation.
Margaret is pictured with Grainne Seoige who presented the awards and two representatives from iD Expert who sponsored her particular award.
Congratulations to Sr Margaret for her wonderful ministry to the sick and dying.
